VRWiki:Tutorial
Appearance
Here, I teach you how to make an article that doesn't suck.
What "Doesn't Suck" Means
Articles that suck don't keep people's attention spans for long. So, to get eyeballs to pay attention to your article:
- Keep it short and sweet
- Include pictures
- But don't make the pictures fucking everything (e.g. picture tutorials)
- Use lists and tables
- Use bold and emphasis, where appropriate.
- Make use of templates.
- Link to other wiki pages
- Break things up into sections with headings
Actually Writing Shit
Here's a short primer on wikitext. We also offer a WYSIWYG editor.
= Level 1 Header = (You shouldn't use L1/H1 headers because they look like the page header) == Level 2 Header == === Level 3 Header === ... And so on. This is italic. This is bold. If you want to internally link to the article VRChat, you do it like that. If you want alternate text for that link, you can use this. Want to link to somewhere else? Use an External Link. If it's another wiki, some wikis have mw:Manual:Interwiki prefixes. This is useful for wikipedia:Wikipedia articles. Recommend RTFM for images, they have lots of options.
Level 1 Header
(You shouldn't use L1/H1 headers because they look like the page header)
Level 2 Header
Level 3 Header
